One trade, read properly
An independent refrigeration workshop working the Newton side of Route 9, on built-in and integrated cold storage and nothing else.
The book of work here is deliberately narrow. Built-in refrigerators, column freezers, ice makers and wine storage — the appliances that were designed into a kitchen rather than delivered to it. Narrowing the trade is what makes the second visit unnecessary: the fault library is small enough to know by heart, and the parts that fail are the parts already on the van.
Newton makes that easier than most towns. The housing stock runs from 1890s shingle-style through mid-century ranches to renovations finished last year, but the refrigeration in all of them tends to be the same handful of platforms fitted into cabinetry of wildly varying quality. What changes between Newton Centre and Oak Hill is the joinery around the unit, not the sealed system inside it.
We do not sell appliances, we take no commission on a replacement, and there is no incentive anywhere in this business to tell you the cabinet is finished when it is not. The service call is a flat figure, it is credited against the repair, and the findings are yours whether or not you use us for the work.

Why the brand matters here
A dual-compressor cabinet fails differently
Most refrigerators run one compressor and share the cold. A Sub-Zero column runs two sealed systems, so the fresh food side can drift warm for a fortnight while the freezer stays hard and nobody notices until the milk turns. The complaint that arrives is "it is not cold enough". The fault is almost never in the compartment being complained about.
The same is true of the magnetic door seal, the anti-condensation heaters around the frame and the vacuum condenser. Each of them changes the way the unit behaves without ever throwing a code. Reading the panel and stopping there is how a two-hundred-dollar gasket becomes a compressor quote.
